ACT/SAT Test Prep
Standardized tests represent one of the most important components of the college application. To maximize your score it is critical to work with a tutor who not only understands standardized tests but the test related challenges individual students need to overcome.
The Wunder Method focuses on 3 key concepts that correlate to optimal test results:
Knowledge of content
Different students struggle with different mathematical concepts found on the test. I make sure to identity what each individual student needs to work on and create a plan to ensure they're comfortable with that content before they take the test.Tricks of the test
Top scoring students use a set of "tricks" to ensure they're able to handle the unique style of questions.
Many of these "tricks" are centered around timing (making sure students finish the test before it times out) and consolidating the overwhelming amount of information. There are others too! I spend time working with students on the specific test taking strategies that will benefit them the most based on their learning style.Problem solving skills
Some students know almost all of the content found on standardized tests but get lost in the process of implementing it. SAT and ACT questions are often long and complicated. I work with students on the process of getting from the given information to the answer by planning for harder questions within an appropriate time frame.
Academic Support
For students eager to take their performance to the next level, consistent academic support is the best way to create long-lasting improvement that boosts grades and improves independent learning skills long into the future. Consistent academic support reinforces consistent academic effort.

Knowledge of content
My evaluation methods help me determine what position your child is in and work with them to backfill knowledge if needed while staying up-to-date, with sustainable improvement as the class progresses. Slight or gradual adjustments to a student’s mindset, knowledge base, or overall approach are preferable and more efficient when possible. Alternatively, some students who may seem close to succeeding are missing fundamental knowledge that would enable them to be much more successful.Hyper-personalized approach
I do not have a preset curriculum. Instead, I work with a commitment Commitment to the students' success and varied approaches. Using one on one in session attention, worksheets, and videos, and between session availability, everything is done to encourage success.Problem solving skills
One on one attention can reengage the student and have add-on effects of better utilized class time. Replacing the school teacher is not the goal. The goal is to promote curiosity, engagement in class and school, and confidence through understanding.Techniques for learning independently, and understanding the fundamentals at a deep level.
Sustainable Improvement
Some basketball players have good form, but don’t shoot the ball well. The results don’t indicate how close they are to high-performance. Alternatively, some players may shoot the three-point ball at a better percentage, but to improve further would need to completely deconstruct and relearn their shot mechanic. Slight or gradual adjustments to a student’s mindset, knowledge base, or overall approach are preferable and more efficient when possible.
